1.2.2 Professional

Individuals or businesses registered on the platform to offer services such as cleaning, maintenance, or childcare.

1.2.3 Secure Payment Holding

Unlimited Gig integrates with Stripe to securely store customer payment methods and process payments when bookings are Completed. This ensures a fast, secure, and reliable payment experience for every transaction.

1.2.4 Platform Fee

A combined 20% charge (the Marketplace & Support Fee plus the Service Fee) applied to bookings to maintain verification systems and support — see Section 1.6 for the full pricing and VAT breakdown.

Section 1.3

Eligibility and Account Registration

1.3.1 Eligibility

To use the platform, you must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under applicable law.

1.3.2 Account Responsibility

All users must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

1.3.3 Misuse and Violations

Account sharing or providing false information is a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate suspension.

Section 1.4

Nature of the Platform

1.4.1 Intermediary Role

Unlimited Gig operates as a technology-enabled marketplace that facilitates connections between Customers seeking services and verified Professionals who offer those services. Unlimited Gig acts as an intermediary and does not directly employ Professionals.

1.4.2 No Employment

Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, agency, partnership, joint venture, or franchise between Unlimited Gig and any Professional. Professionals are not agents of Unlimited Gig.

1.4.3 Responsibilities

While we do not directly provide services, we accept responsibility for: verification and vetting of Professionals; secure handling of payments through our escrow system; customer support and dispute resolution; maintaining platform integrity and security; and ensuring pricing transparency prior to booking confirmation.

Section 1.5

Booking and Service Delivery

1.5.1 Booking Process

Customers may browse available Professionals, review profiles and ratings, and place bookings through the platform. A booking becomes legally binding once payment is completed and a confirmation is issued. By confirming a booking, the Customer agrees to the listed pricing, service terms, and applicable cancellation policies.

1.5.2 Service Descriptions

Professionals are responsible for providing accurate and complete descriptions of their services, including scope, duration, pricing, and any requirements. Customers are advised to review these details carefully and may contact Professionals for clarification prior to booking. Unlimited Gig does not assume responsibility for inaccuracies in service listings.

1.5.3 Service Confirmation & Payment

Payment is processed only after successful completion of the service. Customers are notified once the Professional marks the service as complete and are given an opportunity to review the outcome. Funds are released to the Professional upon Customer confirmation. In the event of a dispute, payment is temporarily held until resolution.

1.5.4 Access and Cooperation

Customers must ensure that Professionals are granted appropriate access to the service location at the scheduled time, including accurate address details and any required entry instructions. Failure to provide access may result in cancellation of the booking without eligibility for a refund.

Section 1.6 · Revised

Platform Fee, Pricing & VAT Policy

This Section 1.6 replaces in full the previous version of Section 1.6 ("Platform Fee and Pricing"). It governs how the price of every booking made through the Platform is constructed, how VAT is calculated and applied, and how the resulting Total Payable Amount is presented to Customers before a booking is confirmed. It should be read alongside Section 1.5 (Booking and Service Delivery) and Section 1.16 (Cancellation Policy), and applies to every booking made in Great British Pounds (£) through the Unlimited Gig website and mobile application, regardless of service category.

1.6.1 Purpose and Scope

This Policy governs how every booking price is built, how VAT is calculated on it, and how the Total Payable Amount is shown to Customers prior to confirmation. It applies to all bookings in GBP (£), across every service category listed on the Platform (cleaning, cooking, beauty, electrical, garden care, pet services, plumbing, car cleaning and detailing, and others).

1.6.2(a) Provider Service Price

The price set by the Professional for the labour, time, expertise, and materials involved in delivering the booked service. This amount is set entirely by the Professional, is paid to the Professional in full, and is not subject to VAT charged by Unlimited Gig, because Unlimited Gig is not the supplier of the underlying service — the Professional is.

1.6.2(b) Marketplace & Support Fee

A fee equal to 10% of the Provider Service Price, charged by Unlimited Gig to the Customer for operating the Platform. Because this is a distinct supply made by Unlimited Gig to the Customer, it is subject to VAT at the prevailing standard rate, currently 20%.

1.6.2(c) Service Fee

A second fee, also equal to 10% of the Provider Service Price, charged for the technology, trust and safety, and customer-facing infrastructure supporting each booking. Like the Marketplace & Support Fee, it is also subject to VAT at the prevailing standard rate.

1.6.2(d) Platform Fees

The Marketplace & Support Fee and the Service Fee, together, referred to as the "Platform Fees." The combined Platform Fees equal 20% of the Provider Service Price before VAT.

1.6.2(e) VAT

Value Added Tax charged in the United Kingdom at the rate prevailing at the time of booking (currently 20%). VAT under this Policy is calculated only on the Platform Fees, and is never calculated or charged by Unlimited Gig on the Provider Service Price.

1.6.2(f) Total Payable Amount

The full amount charged to the Customer's payment method for a booking, equal to the Provider Service Price plus the Platform Fees plus VAT on the Platform Fees.

1.6.3 Structure of Every Booking Price

Every price shown on the Platform is built from exactly three components, always displayed separately before a Customer confirms a booking:

  • The Provider Service Price — what the Professional receives.
  • The Marketplace & Support Fee (10% of the Provider Service Price, plus VAT) — what Unlimited Gig charges for operating the marketplace.
  • The Service Fee (10% of the Provider Service Price, plus VAT) — what Unlimited Gig charges for platform technology, trust, safety, and customer support.

No other charges are added to a confirmed booking unless the Customer separately incurs a cancellation charge, rescheduling fee, or optional extra under Section 1.16, each of which is itself shown and VAT-accounted for in the same manner as set out in this Policy.

1.6.4 Worked Example — Full Payment Breakdown

Illustrative example for a booking with a Provider Service Price of £100.00. Actual amounts vary according to the price set by the Professional.

Description Amount (excl. VAT) VAT (20%) Amount (incl. VAT)
1. Provider Service Price £100.00 £0.00 £100.00
2. Marketplace & Support Fee (10%) £10.00 £2.00 £12.00
3. Service Fee (10%) £10.00 £2.00 £12.00
Total Paid by Customer £120.00 £4.00 £124.00
1.6.5.1 Provider Service Price — £100.00

No VAT is charged by Unlimited Gig on this figure. This is the amount set by the Professional, and it is the amount the Professional receives in full. Where a Professional is themselves VAT-registered, any VAT due on their own supply is a matter between the Professional and HMRC, and is not part of the Platform's own VAT calculation.

1.6.5.2 Marketplace & Support Fee — £12.00 incl. VAT

Covers hosting and maintaining the booking marketplace, matching Customers with verified Professionals, support channels, booking administration, and secure payment processing. Standard-rate VAT is added: £2.00 VAT on a £10.00 fee, for £12.00 total.

1.6.5.3 Service Fee — £12.00 incl. VAT

Covers the underlying platform technology, ongoing trust and safety systems (including Professional verification and DBS checks), and fraud prevention. Also a taxable supply, so VAT is added in the same way: £2.00 VAT on a £10.00 fee, for £12.00 total.

🧾

Total Paid by the Customer — £124.00 (inclusive of VAT). £100.00 (Provider Service Price) + £12.00 (Marketplace & Support Fee, incl. VAT) + £12.00 (Service Fee, incl. VAT) = £124.00. Of this total, £4.00 is VAT, charged solely on the £20.00 of combined Platform Fees, and £120.00 is the amount excluding VAT.

1.6.6 Where the Money Goes

Recipient Amount What it covers
Professional £100.00 Their time, skill, and delivery of the booked service in full.
Unlimited Gig £20.00 Marketplace & Support Fee (£10.00) plus Service Fee (£10.00) — platform operation, verification, support, and technology.
HMRC (via Unlimited Gig) £4.00 VAT collected on the combined £20.00 of Platform Fees, at the standard rate of 20%.
1.6.7 Why VAT Applies to Platform Fees, Not the Provider's Price

VAT is a tax on the supply of goods or services made by a VAT-registered business. Two separate supplies happen within a single booking: the Professional supplies the underlying service directly to the Customer (consideration: the Provider Service Price), and Unlimited Gig supplies access to, and support of, its marketplace platform (consideration: the Marketplace & Support Fee and Service Fee). Unlimited Gig is VAT-registered and charges VAT on its own taxable supplies — the Platform Fees — but is not the supplier of the underlying service, so it does not charge VAT on the Provider Service Price. A VAT-registered Professional remains solely responsible for their own VAT obligations on the Provider Service Price.

1.6.8 Transparency Before Booking

Before confirming any booking, the Platform displays in full: the Provider Service Price; the Marketplace & Support Fee (excl. and incl. VAT); the Service Fee (excl. and incl. VAT); and the Total Payable Amount. No fee, charge, or VAT amount is added, changed, or revealed only after a booking has been confirmed.

1.6.9 VAT Invoices

Customers who require a VAT invoice for the Platform Fees may request one via My Bookings > Select Booking > Request VAT Invoice, or by contacting support@unlimitedgig.com. The invoice shows Unlimited Gig's VAT registration number, the net amount, the VAT rate, and the VAT charged on the Platform Fees. Because Unlimited Gig does not charge VAT on the Provider Service Price, that element will not appear as a VAT-bearing line on any Unlimited Gig invoice; Customers needing a VAT invoice for the Provider Service Price itself should request this directly from the Professional, where VAT-registered.

1.6.10 Rate Changes and Fee Modifications

The VAT rate applied is the standard rate set by HMRC from time to time (currently 20%). If the standard rate changes, the VAT shown on bookings updates automatically from the date the new rate takes legal effect, without a separate notice period, since this is a change in law rather than a change to Unlimited Gig's own pricing. Separately, Unlimited Gig reserves the right to change the percentage rate of the Marketplace & Support Fee and/or the Service Fee at its discretion, subject to a minimum of 14 days' prior notice. Continued use of the Platform after that notice period constitutes acceptance of the revised fee structure, and any change continues to be presented using the same three-line breakdown described in this Policy.

1.6.11 Refunds, Cancellations, and VAT

Where a booking is cancelled, refunded, or partially refunded under Section 1.16, any refund is apportioned across the Provider Service Price, the Marketplace & Support Fee (incl. VAT), and the Service Fee (incl. VAT) in the same proportions as the original Total Payable Amount, unless Section 1.16 specifies different treatment (for example, the 10% late-cancellation charge, which is retained rather than refunded, along with its associated VAT). Where a promotional voucher is issued in place of a cash refund under Section 1.16.3, its value is calculated on the same VAT-inclusive Total Payable Amount basis, so the voucher's cash-equivalent value matches what was actually charged, including VAT.

1.6.12 Payment Timing

As set out in Sections 1.5.3 and 1.6.2, Customers are charged the full Total Payable Amount — Provider Service Price, Marketplace & Support Fee, Service Fee, and VAT on the Platform Fees — only after the Professional has marked the service as complete and, where applicable, following any Customer confirmation window. The complete breakdown is displayed at the point of booking and again at the point of payment, so the amount ultimately charged always matches the amount originally disclosed.

Section 1.14

Account Closure & Data Deletion

We respect your right to control your personal data. When you choose to leave Unlimited Gig, you have two clearly defined options — each with distinct implications for your data, pending transactions, and future access.

Temporary Deactivation

Like Instagram's "pause" feature — your account is hidden and inactive but all data is preserved. You can reactivate at any time within 12 months.

Profile, reviews & history preserved
Wallet balance retained
Reactivate instantly via email link
Auto-deleted after 12 months of inactivity

Permanent Deletion

Like Facebook's "Delete Account" — all personal data is permanently and irreversibly wiped from our systems within 30 days, per GDPR Article 17.

Profile, reviews & history deleted
Stripe payment data purged
Firebase Auth & Firestore records removed
Legal transaction records kept 7 yrs (HMRC)
1.14.1 Right to Erasure

Under UK GDPR Article 17, users have the right to request erasure of their personal data. Selecting permanent deletion fulfils this right. We will confirm deletion via email within 5 business days of initiating the request.

1.14.2 Deactivation Period

A deactivated account remains in a suspended state for up to 12 months. During this period your public profile is hidden, no bookings can be made or received, and you will not receive platform communications except for legal notices.

1.14.3 Data Wiped on Permanent Deletion

Upon permanent deletion, the following data is purged within 30 days: Firebase Authentication credentials, Firestore user documents and booking history, Stripe customer records and saved payment methods, profile photos, reviews authored, and all message threads.

1.14.4 Legally Retained Data

Notwithstanding the above, certain transactional records (invoices, payment confirmations) are retained for 7 years to comply with HMRC and UK financial regulations. This retained data is stored in encrypted, access-restricted archives and is not used for any commercial purpose.

1.14.5 Pending Bookings

Account closure (temporary or permanent) cannot be processed while there are active or pending bookings. All outstanding engagements must be completed, cancelled, or resolved through the dispute process prior to initiating closure.

1.14.6 No Recovery After Deletion

Permanent account deletion is irreversible. Unlimited Gig accepts no liability for loss of data, reviews, wallet credits, or account history arising from a user's decision to permanently delete their account. Users are strongly encouraged to export their data prior to deletion.

Section 1.15

Third-Party Integrations

Stripe Payments
Firebase Auth
Firestore Database
Firebase Storage
1.15.1 Stripe — Payment Processing

Unlimited Gig uses Stripe, Inc. to process all payment transactions on the platform. By making or receiving a payment, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Stripe is a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Unlimited Gig does not store card numbers, CVV codes, or full payment credentials on its own servers. Stripe's data handling is governed by their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

1.15.2 Secure Payment Processing & Release

All payments are securely processed through Stripe and temporarily held until the job is verified as completed. Once the customer confirms satisfactory service delivery, the funds are released to the service provider's connected account after deducting applicable platform charges. Payouts are typically completed within 2–5 business days, depending on bank processing times and Stripe's settlement cycle.

1.15.3 Firebase Authentication

User identity and session management is handled via Google Firebase Authentication. Firebase stores authentication credentials (email, hashed passwords, OAuth tokens) securely under Google's infrastructure. Firebase Auth data is subject to Google's Cloud Data Processing Addendum and GDPR compliance commitments. On permanent account deletion, we submit a deletion request to Firebase which removes the user's Auth record.

1.15.4 Firestore — Data Storage

All user data, booking records, and messaging content are stored in Google Firestore, a fully managed NoSQL cloud database. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Firestore operates under Google Cloud's ISO 27001, SOC 1/2/3 certifications and is fully compliant with UK GDPR data residency requirements where applicable.

1.15.5 Firebase Storage

Profile images and service-related media uploaded to the platform are stored via Firebase Cloud Storage. Files are served through secure, time-limited URLs and access is governed by Firebase Security Rules. All stored media is subject to deletion upon permanent account closure as outlined in Section 1.14.

Section 1.16

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both Customers and Professionals — allowing flexibility where possible while protecting service providers from last-minute losses. The key threshold is 24 hours before your scheduled service.

Free Cancellation
More than 24 hours before
Cancel anytime with no charge. Full amount returned to your original payment method.
🎟️
Cancellation Fee Applies
Within 24 hours of service
A 10% cancellation charge is applied, issued as a promotional voucher for your next booking.
1.16.1 Free Cancellation Window

Customers may cancel any confirmed booking without incurring any charges, provided the cancellation is made more than 24 hours before the scheduled service start time. In such cases, the full booking amount will be refunded to the original payment method within 5–7 business days, depending on the customer's bank or card provider.

1.16.2 Late Cancellation Charge

If a Customer cancels a booking within 24 hours of the scheduled service start time, a cancellation charge of 10% of the total booking value will be applied. This charge is deducted to partially compensate the Professional for their reserved time and preparation costs. The remaining 90% of the booking amount will be refunded to the Customer's original payment method.

1.16.3 Promotional Voucher in Lieu of Penalty

Rather than charging the 10% cancellation fee as an immediate cash deduction, Unlimited Gig issues the equivalent value as a promotional voucher to the Customer's account. This voucher must be redeemed against a future booking on the Unlimited Gig platform. The voucher is valid for 90 days from the date of issue and is non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be converted to cash. The Customer is required to make a new booking to redeem and benefit from the voucher.

1.16.4 Voucher Redemption & Next Booking Requirement

The promotional voucher issued under Section 1.16.3 is redeemable exclusively on the Customer's next confirmed booking via the platform. Customers must apply the voucher code at the checkout stage of their subsequent booking. Vouchers cannot be partially redeemed or split across multiple bookings. Any unused balance on a partially applied voucher (where permitted by the booking value) will be forfeited.

1.16.5 No-Show Policy

If a Customer fails to provide the Professional with access to the service location at the scheduled time without providing prior cancellation notice — constituting a no-show — the full booking amount may be retained to compensate the Professional. No refund or promotional voucher will be issued in no-show circumstances. Repeated no-shows may result in account suspension in accordance with Section 1.10.2.

1.16.6 Professional Cancellations

If a Professional cancels a confirmed booking for any reason other than a genuine emergency, the Customer will receive a full refund of the booking amount with no cancellation charge applied. Additionally, Unlimited Gig will issue the Customer a complimentary 5% discount voucher on their next booking as a goodwill gesture. Professionals who repeatedly cancel may have their account suspended or removed from the platform.

1.16.7 Cancellations Due to Emergencies or Force Majeure

In exceptional circumstances — including but not limited to medical emergencies, bereavement, severe weather, or events of force majeure — the late cancellation charge under Section 1.16.2 may be waived at the sole discretion of Unlimited Gig's customer support team. Customers seeking such a waiver must contact support@unlimitedgig.com as soon as reasonably practicable with supporting evidence. Waivers are not guaranteed and are assessed individually on a case-by-case basis.

1.16.8 Rescheduling as an Alternative

As an alternative to cancellation, Customers are encouraged to reschedule their booking via the platform. Rescheduling made more than 24 hours before the original service time is free of charge. Rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of the service are subject to Professional availability and may incur a rescheduling convenience fee of up to 5% of the booking value, which will be clearly displayed before confirmation.

1.16.9 How to Cancel

Cancellations must be submitted through the platform by navigating to My Bookings > Select Booking > Cancel Booking. Cancellations communicated solely via phone, email, or messaging outside the platform will not be accepted as valid and the relevant policy window will continue to apply. Upon successful cancellation, a confirmation email will be sent to the registered email address of the Customer.
